Prepare for Auditions

MUSIC - The music for THE LIGHTNING THIEF is pop/rock, contemporary Broadway style singing.

Auditionees are encouraged to listen to The Lightning Thief Broadway Cast Recording to get a feel for the musical style.  It is available on Spotify, Amazon Music, and YouTube at no cost.

Auditionees should prepare one (1) piece of music that demonstrates  vocal range and personality. Depending on scheduling,  we may need to stop you  mid-song in order to stay on track with vocal appointments.  This is not a reflection of your performance.

Please bring the music for your song selection digitally as we will not have a pianist for accompaniment.

MOVEMENT - Movement for TLT is contemporary musical theatre styling.  We are seeking actors with lots of personality who can execute high energy and dynamic movement including choreographed fight scenes.  If you have martial arts, dance or gymnastics training, this is the time to show off!

READINGS - Cold readings from the script.  For the most part, auditionees will not be asked to read during their audition.  However, there may be some cold readings during callbacks.

Audition Registration   Everyone is welcome, but in order to limit the number of people present at any one time, we will be auditioning in groups in half hour increments.  Please schedule your vocal audition at

  • Please be sure the person listed in the “Name” section of the audition form is the  name of the person who will be auditioning.
  • On the day of your audition, please arrive about 15 minutes prior to your vocal appointment, so that we may process your paperwork.
  • Current performance resume (if you have one)  and headshot (a good photo from the shoulders up - does NOT have to be a professional shot but should be one that shows your personality) are  required for all auditionees.
  • You can check out a synopsis of The Lightneing Thief at
